In Casalmaggiore, one of the most characterful towns in the region, stands the Santuario della Madonna della Fontana, a centre of spirituality and devotion to the Virgin Mary.
The current sanctuary with its beautiful and stately lines was built in 1463. Of particular interest is a fresco in the church’s entrance attributed to Filippo Mazzola, father of the more famous Francesco Mazzola, known as Parmigianino.
The village of Grazie also receives many visitors for its Santuario delle Grazie, overlooking the Mincio river, where you can take boat trips in search of the flora and fauna that make this waterway so special.
